The Clinical Sciences Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences was established by virtue of Resolution No. 2/2011 of the General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences dated 26 May 2011 and is active at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The Committee represents the largest number of specialities at the Faculty of Medical Sciences. It is composed of 49 members - professors of medical universities, research institutes and institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences, representing various areas of medical sciences.

The members of the Committee are representatives of the specialities related to the scientific issues addressed by the Committee, elected by the scientific community of a given discipline or disciplines represented in the Committee, and national members of the Polish Academy of Sciences of the relevant specialities who apply for participation in the works of a given Committee or are invited to participate therein. In the current term, there are 14 national members of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The scope of activities of the Committee covers most of the clinical issues from the field of medicine.

The tasks of the Committee include working for development of medical specialities represented by the Committee, as well as application, dissemination and promotion of their achievements in Poland and abroad. The Committee is an advisory and opinion-giving body.
