The first plenary meeting of the Committee of Clinical Sciences at the Polish Academy of Sciences took place on 21st of May 2020. The meeting was chaired by the Dean of Division V: Medical Sciences - Prof. Witold Rużyłło, Ph.D., D.Sc., dr. h.c., PAN ordinary member.

"Health First" Program is an initiative of Prof. Henryk Skarżyński launched in 2016 and implemented on an increasingly large scale. The third edition of the Program began in June at the Polish Television building and the building of Polish Radio and lasted throughout the summer until mid-October. The summary of the results of the action took place on October 17 in the Senate of the Republic of Poland during the "round table" with the participation of experts from various fields of medicine supporting the Program. In the debate, moderated by Prof. Henryk Skarżyński and Krzysztof Jakubiak, Director of the Press and Promotion Office at the Ministry of Health, Stanisław Karczewski, Speaker of the Polish Senate, Waldemar Kraska, Chairman of the Senate Health Commission, Łukasz Szumowski, Minister of Health, and Senator Konstanty Radziwiłł, Minister of Health in 2015-2018.

 DSC6182smThe completion of the first stage of examinations carried out under the "Precious Health" Program took place on 19th September in Warsaw. The Mobile Hearing Center and the Mobile Medical Center have parked at the buildings of Polish Television and Polish Radio. Inhabitants could seek advice of doctors: otolaryngologists, ophthalmologists, cardiologists, periodontists and dermatologists. In total, over a thousand tests and consultations were given and conducted. Millions of radio listeners and television viewers following the "live" footage from the medical camp were reminded that it was worth taking care of their health.

DSC 1813 smOn 27th September 2017, a press conference entitled "20 Years - from Pilot Studies to Common Screening in the Early Detection of Hearing Disorders” was held at the Polish Press Agency in Warsaw. The conference agenda included among others results of hearing screening tests carried out in cooperation with the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (KRUS) and presentation of the new program assumptions, which will cover the entire population of children starting school education of the Mazovian Region as the first in the world. Prof. Henryk Skarżyński - the originator of screening tests of children's hearing in Poland opened the conference. The conference was also attended by Janina Pszczółkowska, Deputy President of KRUS, Associate Prof. Krzysztof Kochanek, Screening Program Coordinator and Elżbieta Szymanik, Deputy Director of the European Social Fund, Mazovian Unit for Implementation of EU Programs. The meeting was moderated by Jadwiga Kamińska, President of the Press Health Promotion Club. The conference gathered nearly 40 journalists.

DSC 3572 300The conference ‘Health First - Screening tests as the basis of the feasible preventive healthcare’, organized in the collaboration with the Marshal of the Senate, Mr. Stanisław Karczewski, took place on 21 November 2017. The initiator of this event, Prof. Henryk Skarżyński, had invited the participants to listen to presentations of eminent scientists and clinicians – physicians representing different medical specialties, and to take part in the discussion necessary to develop and implement a wide scale program of health promotion and disease prevention in Poland. Presentation of hitherto results of the program was coupled with lectures of experts in different fields of medicine who are aware of an urgent need of expanding the preventive healthcare activities in Poland.
